The Next Big Thing – Arena Hazard Mitigation

ECR Summer 2016 Interns
East Coast Robotics has begun a project to tackle a major safety concern in combat robotics, battery fires. In 2015 several robots experienced Lithium Polymer battery fires. While these fires didn’t cause any physical hazard to the venue or audience, they delayed the tournament. During the summer of 2016, three senior level engineering students joined the ECR team to investigate the issues of battery and electronics fires in combat robotics as well as best practices and remediation equipment.

Robogames 2016

East Coast Robotics has done it again. The team traveled to a new venue this year, The Alameda County Fairgrounds, for another week of robot mayhem. Our team constructed the Combat box as well as assist in managing the tournament.
